EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) Music Ideas in Ilkley

I've been teaching music now for almost 16 years to hundreds of pupils of all ages and abilities on a 1:1 basis.

I am now based in Ilkley, West Yorkshire and have pupils travelling to me for lessons from Ilkley, Ben Rhydding, Addingham, Menston, Burley in Wharfedale, Otley, Keighley, Skipton, Guiseley, Bolton Abbey, Bradford, Leeds City Centre and more. Additionally I provide tuition online via Zoom, FaceTime or Skype and have nationwide and international pupils.

What is an EPQ?

The Extended Project Qualification is a new qualification that gives young people a great chance to explore something that personally interests them. It’s worth half an AS Level and will earn you extra UCAS points and teach you valuable skills that are highly regarded by prospetive universities and employers. Universities in particular recognise the strengths of the EPQ and the opportunities it gives for students to develop independent study and research skills.

I have helped students with the EPQ P303 Putting on a Performance which involves:

• producing a live music performance (solo or group) or alternatively a CD or DVD of the performane, with additional 3000 word commentary

and also the EPQ P304 Musical Artefact / Composition:

• Complete a musical recording in the role of producer / recording engineer
• Compose / write a song or arrange a musical piece in a style of your own choosing
